- No motivation
- Easily irritated
- Anxiety or panic attacks
- Feeling empty
- Trouble sleeping
- No joy in anything
If this sounds like you, it's time to pause and step outside your routine—even for a day. One of the most powerful ways to reset is grounding—walking barefoot on the earth or, even better, in the ocean if you live by water. This simple practice connects you to the earth’s energy, helping to calm your nervous system and restore balance.
Breathe, Rebalance, Reset
Breathwork is another profound way to nourish your body and mind. I recommend courses like:
- "Breath is Life" by Michaël Bijker
- Irene Lyon’s Nervous System Rewire Program (irenelyon.com)
- Make Some Breathing Space Courses (makesomebreathingspace.com)
For extra support, try binaural beats and sound therapy:
- Calm.com
- SyncTuition (my personal favorite for years!)
- YouTube has plenty of free options.
Essential Oils: Small But Mighty Shifts
I use essential oils daily—today, I’m wearing my homemade blends:
- "Hormone Synergy" for hormone balance and nervous system support.
- "Focus & Lift" to keep me grounded while working with clients.
A few go-to oils:
- Lavender – Relaxing (but avoid if you're prone to cold or deficiency).
- Orange – Lifts the spirit, eases anxiety.
- Cedarwood – Deeply grounding.
- Basil – Uplifting for sadness or emotional heaviness.
- Myrtle – Helps with exhaustion from overwork.
- Spruce – Great for chronic fatigue.
Acupuncture & Bodywork: A Deep Reset
Acupuncture is a powerful ally in balancing energy, calming the mind, improving sleep, nourishing the body, and relieving pain. Many feel a shift after just one session, but regular treatments offer the most profound changes. I also combine acupuncture with Reiki, creating a deeply restorative experience.
Other supportive therapies include:
- Massage
- Craniosacral therapy
- Energy work like Reiki
Food, Supplements & Herbal Helpers
When stressed, we often overeat, undereat, or crave quick emotional highs (sugar, anyone?). Be gentle with yourself, but also support your body with nourishing choices.
Simple, nutrient-dense meals:
- Soup with healthy fats like avocado or hemp seeds.
- Never skip breakfast – even a nutrient-dense smoothie helps.
- Congee (see my blog for a recipe) – a gentle, nourishing start to the day.
Mood-boosting foods:
- Bananas – High in tryptophan and essential vitamins to enhance mood.
- Dark chocolate – Because, yes.
- Avocado – Supports hormone balance.
- Dates (5 max per day) – A natural sweetener that also aids sleep.
Supplements & Herbs for Balance:
- Magnesium – Read my blog on its benefits.
- Ashwagandha – Reduces stress and anxiety.
- Reishi – An adaptogen that supports relaxation and vitality.
- Probiotics for mood – Gut health = mental health.
- Herbal teas – So many options to soothe and restore.
Prioritize Yourself. You Deserve It.
If you’re feeling depleted, start with one small step toward self-care. Breathe deeply. Walk barefoot. Eat nourishing foods. Your body and mind are asking for balance—listen to them.
You've got this.
and when you need a helping hand, book in with me and let's get you centred back into yourself.
